PROCESS RESIDUES WITH
CIRCULAR ECONOMY APPLICATIONS
The BPC process produces a residual syrup with high energy content and some residual solid and soluble proteins. This syrup can be cleaned and/or concentrated to meet specification of local end-users.
DAIRY FEED
An evaporation process can concentrate the syrup to approximately 65% glucose with residual solid and soluble proteins, making it an excellent replacement for molasses.
GREEN ENERGY
In its raw form the syrup can be an effective growth medium for single cell organisms, including for the production of ethanol or butanol or as an input for anerobic digesters.
GREEN CHEMISTRY
In more complex applications, the syrup could be transformed into organic acids for bioplastics or polyols such as propylene glycol, ethylene glycol and butanediols.
OTHER APPLICATIONS
The syrup can be used as a growth medium or feed stock for bacteria used in the production of many products including antibiotics and single cell proteins.
